A cell has 32 chromosomes It undergoes mitotic division What will be Biology Diagrams The graphic below shows a visual representation of the cell cycle. The small section labeled "M" represents mitosis, while interphase is shown subdivided into its major components: the G 1, S, and G 2 phases. This cell cycle is used by all eukaryotic cells to produce new cells. Prokaryotic cells such as bacteria use a process called Download scientific diagram | Diagram to illustrate a complete cell cycle progression through four cell cycle phases (G1, S, G2, and M) and three major checkpoints (G1/S, G2/M, and SAC). M phase
Phases of the Cell Cycle 1. Gap 0 Phase (G0) Gap 0 phase or G0 phase of the cell cycle is a period of time where the cell is present in a quiescent stage or resting phase, as it neither divides nor grows. The G0 phase can be considered either an extended G1 phase or a separate phase-out of the cell cycle.

Illustration of the different cell cycle phases during interphase (G1, S, G2) and mitosis (M; subdivided into prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis).

The Complete Cell Cycle. Remember, mitosis is the process of cell division, but it's just a portion of the full cell cycle. Figure 5 shows approximately how long a cell spends in each stage of the cell cycle: Figure 5. The cell cycle consists of interphase and the mitotic phase. During interphase, the cell grows and the nuclear DNA is duplicated. The following labeled diagram illustrates the cell cycle. As you can see in the labeled diagram here, the cell cycle is an ordered series of events involving cell growth and cell division that produces two new daughter cells. Cells on the path to cell division proceed through a series of precisely timed and carefully regulated stages of growth

The cell cycle consists of four distinct phases: G 1 , synthesis (S), G 2 , and mitosis (M), respectively. The first three phases are known as interphase (referred to by the outer ring).
